Spring 08: Missions, Children, and Dreams
(see more of Ernst Schade's series Children of Africa)
Obviously, reaching the world with the Gospel involves more than just preaching to adults. "Discipling nations" will always involve children because they are the future of every nation. We are organizing several special events to explore the great need for reaching children in our day. (Check events on our calendar, here on the blog, or subscribe)
Our vision at RMLA is to help each one of you fulfill the dream God has put in your heart by doing two specific things: 1) getting you to talk about your dream and 2) helping you to start networking. Talking about your dreams helps keep you walking toward them, and it gives others the opportunity to share your dream. Each week this semester, we will be having Dream Meetings, where we can share and pray about our missions dream. Join us this semester; this ain't your parents missions group!

Asian Center for Missions: Chris Gammill
Chris Gammill is the internship coordinator for CBN Worldreach (among other things). He is very interested finding ways to reach out to Regent students and help them network. One such opportunity is through ACM, an organization that partners with CBN in Asia. If you are interested in more info, please contact Chris and of course check out ACM's site.

University Prayer: join us!
Received this email, and thought we would spread the word.
Dear Regent Community,
Please join us as we continue to lift up the university in prayer, Monday-Friday at 8:30am. We will meet in the Executive Conference Room (Admin Building) until Friday the 14th of November. Beginning Monday, 11/17, we will move our prayer to a larger, more central location, and will meet in the Library Auditorium—same time: 8:30am. Please remember that this time of prayer will culminate in a sunrise prayer time of Thanksgiving at 7:00am on Wednesday, 11/26.

The Switchboard: Special Event on Nov. 18th!
We'll be having a special event on the 18th, called The Switchboard. Basically, we're going to try to get as many there as we can who are interested in going on a missions trip. This is something we'd like to do once a semester. We know a lot of people lead missions trips from Regent, and even more from churches in the Hampton Roads area. We are going to try to provide Regent students and alumni the connections (like a switchboard...). The more, the merrier, so even if you can't afford a trip, come and find out what God is doing all over the world. (Oh yeah, we're going to work hard to get all major continents represented... North & South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia).

Prayer for USA
This past meeting we worshiped together and took some time to pray for our country. Of course, at the time the polls were still open and it seemed like the whole world was focused on election coverage. It was really good to pray and let God speak to our hearts about it and also to share with each other what we felt God was saying.
Brian Weaver was also able to join us... he's gone to Tanzania for a short trip. Please pray for him and what God is preparing for Europe, which is currently his focus.
